The Tech Under the Hood: Model Context Protocol (MCP)

To understand why this integration is seamless, you have to look at how systems talk to each other. Historically, connecting AI to business tools required building fragile, custom API integrations.
These new extensions are powered by Anthropic’s MCP Apps, an open standard designed to securely connect AI systems to external tools and data sources. Think of it like a universal USB-C port for enterprise AI.
Instead of relying on fragile data bridges, Claude can natively reference, display, and interact with complex environments like Agentforce 360 and Slack. It does this while completely honoring your organization’s pre-existing permissions and data guardrails. Slack, Securely Available Inside Claude

  • Bring Data In: You can begin your work inside Claude—exploring complex ideas, asking strategic questions, or analyzing trends—using deep conversation context securely retrieved from Slack.
  • Push Value Out: Once Claude generates, edits, or formats a customer response or project draft, you can share it directly back to Slack for active team collaboration.
  • Work Where You Are: You can also invoke Claude directly from within your active Slack channels, bringing high-level AI assistance straight into the live conversations where critical decisions are happening.

Agentforce 360 and Claude: From Insights to Action

Looking ahead, we are taking this a step further. Upcoming Agentforce 360 extensions will give teams the ability to trigger Salesforce-native Agentforce actions directly from the Claude interface.
